Our Tiny DREAM Come True

In a world where we are often told to dream big, we dared to dream “small” This is the story of our farmhouse, our tiny home.

When we acquired the agricultural lot, we later called Lorenzo’s Sanctuary, we just wanted a “bahay kubo”, a nipa hut where we could stay on days where we are at the farm. We enjoyed our bahay kubo for close to five years till the Taal Volcano eruption which caused damaged to it. As we had lots to repair, after two years we decided to build a concrete house with the basic amenities to make us and our guests feel at home.

The tiny house is located at the same spot where we used to have our nipa hut. It’s a 9 x 3-meter house with a single loft. Just enough space for us to rest, eat and bond. The beauty of having a tiny home is that it forces us to just live with the bare minimum. The outdoors become an extension of home which is very healing especially for our Lorenzo.

With limited budget, lots of grit and faith, we built our dream tiny home. Every corner and every nook of our tiny home has a story to tell. We filled it with a few things that are local, handmade and sustainable. It’s a modern home with a Filipino touch.

Lorenzo’s artworks are lovingly displayed to inspire us more. Elizabeth’s chalkboard drawing welcomes us and our guests to a loving home. Lots of heart and brain goes to the design of this tiny home.

To strive for minimalism, reduce our ecological footprint and increase our handprint is an ongoing effort for us. This tiny home is part of that effort. We are happy to share them to our guests who share our vision. Welcome home!
